The Traditional Dance Show is a series of must-see performances put on by Cambodian living art. There are three rotating shows, each lasting about an hour: Shadow & Light (Monday to Wednesday); Grace & Grandeur (Thursday and Saturday); and Heaven & Earth (Friday and Sunday). Set in the attractive grounds of the National Museum, there's also an optional dinner show (US$30, 5.30pm).
Shadow & Light features episodes from Reamker (the Cambodian version of India’s Ramayana epic) and includes both classical dance and shadow puppets. Grace & Grandeur, combines the elegance of the iconic Apsara dance with ancient Pin harps and lakhon khaol(Cambodian masked dance); and Heaven & Earth depicts the epic Churning of the Ocean of Milk to obtain the elixir of immortality and some classic folk dances.
